IG Diff compares two lists you already own, on your own device. The short version: there is no account and no login, your Instagram export is never uploaded, and there is no tracking or advertising.
What we never ask for
Your Instagram password, session, or any other Instagram credential. There is no official way for an app to read a follower list from an account, so any tool asking for those is putting your account at risk. Everything here comes from the export Instagram gives you.
Your Instagram export
Your file is read by your browser, on your device. It is never uploaded to us or to anyone else, and the page keeps working with the network switched off. Only the followers and following lists and your username are read from it. Messages, photos and everything else in the archive are never opened.
What stays in your browser
The lists and comparisons are saved in this browser’s own storage so you can come back to them. That storage is not encrypted, so anyone who can unlock this device and open this browser can read them. A few preferences, such as your theme, are kept there too, and the site keeps a copy of its own pages so it opens offline. None of it is sent to us.
To remove all of it, use “Erase everything” in Settings, or clear this site’s data in your browser.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
IG Diff sets no cookies, runs no analytics and shows no advertising. No page loads a script from anyone else.
Reporting a problem
If you send a report with “Report a problem”, what you type is sent to us along with the address of the page you were on. It is emailed to our support inbox, or, when email is unavailable, stored in our database so it is not lost. Please leave usernames and anything else private out of a report.
To stop the form being abused, your IP address is used to count how many reports you send. That count is deleted automatically within the hour.
Who else is involved
The site is hosted on Vercel, which, like any web host, handles your IP address and basic request details to deliver pages and fend off attacks. Reports are emailed through Resend. Undelivered reports and the abuse counts are stored in MongoDB Atlas. Nobody else receives anything, and nothing is ever sold or used for advertising.
Children
IG Diff is not directed at children under 13.

If what the site handles ever changes, this page changes first. Questions about privacy are welcome through “Report a problem” at the foot of every page.
